Adoption

Over 3000 dogs and cats have come through the center and most were adopted - we still have a few and continue to receive more.

We have many dogs and puppies for adoption. Visit the center which is located on Leon de la Barra (Calle 15). We are two blocks north of Calle 13 (the signal with a bridge crossing Juarez) - turn East (the only way you can turn) and come down three blocks and we are on the left corner. Trailer in front with chain link fence - just honk. I am here 24/7.

AACORP HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE CITY OF PUERTO PENASCO FOR OUR WORK WITH THE ANIMALS FOR THE LAST TEN YEARS. WE ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CITY IN CONDUCTING FREE SPAY/NEUTER CLINICS AND HAVE PERFORMED SURGERY ON OVER 600 ANIMALS IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS. ANOTHER CLINIC IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 1ST ,2010.

SAM

Sam above left - WAS FOUND ABANDONED IN LAS CONCHAS. POOR BABY HAD NO HAIR AND WAS COVERED WITH SARCOPTIC MANGE. HIS EYES WERE GLUED SHUT FROM THE INFECTION. WITH SEVERAL SHOTS OF IVERMECTIN AND LOTS OF GOOD PUPPY FOOD AND LOVE SAM IS JUST A RASCAL.  SAM WAS BROUGHT TO THE CENTER BY JEAN AND BOB SAMSEL ON A WEEK VISIT. MANY PEOPLE HAD SEEN SAM OVER THE PREVIOUS WEEKS BUT HE APPROACHED JEAN - THUS THE  NAME SAM!!!!!

Andre is new and Peppy on the right above is about 2 years old and is very lovable and gets a long with other dogs and fairly well with the cats . Peppy and Andre are buddies and both neutered.

Rocky2  is a rescue. He has a dislocated shoulder (right front leg) and needs surgery. I have him on pain meds and an anti-inflamatory.

We need funds for Rocky2 and Priscilla below. Please help with a donation. We also have another Pitty - Miss Piggy - dumped in Cholla Bay after being bred who also needs Chemo treatment. Miss Piggy is a wonderful Mom and supervises all the teens !!!!!

PUERTO PENASCO PUPPY RESCUE

On my trip to Phoenix in February to attend the luncheon at the Westin Kierland resort put on by Hope for the Animals a coordiated effort beteen pacc911 and faccs I found 6 little pups in a box at the gate. So of course I put them in the car and took them to Phoenix. They are at our center in Phoenix and are now 3 months old. All have been adopted but one.

Hope for the animals was having an awards ceremony and recognized me for my work with the animals. I was truly honored and humbled but had a wonderful time. Thank you Bari Meers, President of paccs911. Hope for the animals raises money to help pay for medical emergencies for the animals of Maricopa County.

The city of Puerto Penasco dog catchers paid us another visit today . We took in about 20 puppies - I will count them tomorrow !!! We also took the one large white female dog . The city is just having a hard time putting them all down and are bringing  many to the center. Please help with a donation or please bring puppy food on your next trip to Rocky Point. The puppies need your help.

Mexico Cat/kitten Rescue

Sky loves the Himalayan Salt Lamp. At night all the inside cats surround the lamp - 

May 11 - We now have 8 little kittens at the center.

We have many resident cats at the center and they will live out their lives in their safe compounds on the property..

No - not a mother and her kitten, Tigre is a boy and is friends with little Pinta - a bottle fed kitten. Is Pinta winking !!!!!!

RESIDENT CATS IN ONE OF THEIR COMPOUNDS. BETO THE BLACK AND WHITE CAT IN FRONT HAS BEEN HERE FOR NINE YEARS. GOOFY LOOKING OUT FROM THE CAT CONDO WAS SHAKEN BY A DOG AS A KITTEN BUT DOES FINE WITH HIS FRIENDS,  HIS SISTER MELODY IS WITH BETO. INDI IS PEEKING OUT FROM THE FAR BACK CONDO !!!!! JESSICA IN BED WITH DAISY MAY HAS BEEN HERE FOR 8 YEARS NOW.  FUNNY GIRL IS A TOURTI AND IS BETWEEN THE TWO CAT HOUSES. DHE WAS BROUGHT HERE AT THE CENTER ABOUT 7 YEARS AGO TO BE FIXED BY HER OWNER - GOT LOOSE - WAS FOUND A FEW WEEKS LATER, SPAYED AND HAS BEEN HERE EVER SINCE.
